2018 Long Beach Pride Parade Applications Due April 1

The application deadline for the 35th Annual Long Beach Pride Parade is April 1, 2018. If you are planning to take part, now is the time to apply. Thousands of LGBTQ+ community members and supporters will move along Ocean Boulevard on Sunday, May 20, 2018, stepping off at 10:30 a.m. at Lindero Avenue.

Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride is proud to carry this tradition into its 35th year. The parade moves equality forward and gives everyone along the route a safe place to be who they were born to be.

The 2018 Theme

The 2018 theme is “Remember the Past, Create the Future.” It comes from InterPride, the international association of Pride organizers, of which Long Beach Pride is a member. Each year its members select a theme that Pride organizations carry out around the world, so our parade entries will share a message with celebrations far beyond Long Beach.

A Parade People Watch

Recognized as one of the nation’s best Pride venues, our parade has been broadcast to more than 22 media outlets across the country and featured on the hit series “Vanderpump Rules.” The show’s executive producer, Lisa Vanderpump, served as Celebrity Grand Marshal of the 2017 parade.

It is such an honor to welcome our community and guest to once again participate in moving equality forward within our city, as well as, our international community by participating in our 35th Annual parade.

Deadline and Street Closures

Parade applications will not be accepted after April 1, 2018. On parade day, Ocean Boulevard closes in stages:

• 5 a.m.: Redondo Avenue to Lindero Avenue
• 8 a.m.: Lindero Avenue to Cherry Avenue
• 8:30 a.m.: Cherry Avenue to Alamitos Avenue and around the curve to Broadway

The Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride Festival runs Saturday, May 19, and Sunday, May 20, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. along Shoreline Drive. The celebration draws more than 80,000 participants over two days, and we would love to see your entry leading the way down Ocean Boulevard.
