Pride doesn’t end when the festival does. October is LGBTQ+ History Month, and the fall calendar is full of days that call our community to show up, get tested, speak out, and stand with each other. Here’s what’s coming up and what was marked this season.
Coming Up in October
- October 11 – National Coming Out Day. Every story told makes the next one easier to tell.
- October 15 – National Latinx HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. Join us Thursday, Oct 22 at the Long Beach Pride Center for free testing, food and raffles. Event details →
- October 19 – National LGBT Center Awareness Day. Celebrate the centers that keep our community safe, housed and connected.
- Third Wednesday (Oct 21) – International Pronouns Day. Ask. Share yours. Get it right.
- Third Thursday (Oct 15) – Spirit Day. Wear purple and stand against bullying of LGBTQ+ youth.
- Last week of October – Asexual Awareness Week.
- October 26 – Intersex Awareness Day.
