Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride Brings in the Stars to Support the LGBTQ+Q Community

Wednesday, April 26, 2017 – Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride is proud to announce their exciting stage headliners and parade celebrities for the 34th Annual Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride Festival and Parade. The event will be held on May 20th and 21st, at Marina Green Park.

This year, Long Beach Pride™ will feature, for the first time in their history, headliners on each of our stages. “We truly want to provide an environment for the community to come together and celebrate our eclectic blend of cultures, as well as, cultivate inclusiveness at every level”, said Denise Newman, President of Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride.

One of the many highlights this year in the celebration is the 20th Anniversary of the Latin stage, Festival Caliente! Below is a listing of all the entertainment coming your way in support of the LBGTQ community.

Main Stage
Long Beach Pride™ is excited to announce the Main Stage Headliner on Saturday, May 20th is Chaka Khan!!! Chaka Khan is a ten-time GRAMMY Award winner. On Sunday, May 21st, we have the amazingly Jody Watley and SRL to close out the weekend.

Urban Soul Stage
On Saturday, May 20th, the stage heats up with the soulful sounds of Monica, as well as, hip-hop recording artist Mann. Sunday, May 21st, Long Beach Pride™ will feature the talented and out rapper, Taylor Bennett. They will also showcase Bre-Z, who is known for her role on the hit show Empire as Freda Gatz.

Fiesta Caliente Stage
In celebration of 20 years of the Fiesta Caliente stage, Long Beach Pride™ will feature and highlight some of the more popular artists who have previously performed at the Latin Stage over the past 20 years. On Saturday, May 20th, they will feature Kat Deluna, Amanda Miguel, Sonora Tropicana and La Chiqui Baby! Sunday, May 21st, will kick off with Ana Victoria, the Selena Tribute Band, Maria Jose and Mariana Seoane. This year will be a ground breaking experience for the Latin stage. There has never been a stage line up like this at any other Pride event. We are turning up the heat!

Country Stage
Get ready for a boot scooting time as Honey County will be performing as the headliner for Saturday, May 20th. Rolling Stones has named them one of the 10 new country artists. On Sunday, May 21st, the singing sensation, Ty Herndon, will be the featured artist on the Country stage.

Dance Stage
Pride will feature the bass bounce of Mike Bryant headlining Saturday, May 20th, at the Dance tent. On Sunday, May 21st, Long Beach Pride™ is excited to have Angie Vee and Ashley Thrasher spin as the headliners.

Parade Grand Marshals
Parade Grand Marshals are selected each year by the Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride Board members and they are selected based on their service to the LGBTQ+Q community.

Participating in the parade on Sunday, May 21st, will be the Grand Parade Marshal, California State Senator Ricardo Lara; the “Morris Kight” Political Grand Marshal is Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn; the “Whitey Littlefield” Community Bridge Building Award is Long Beach Councilmember, Jeannine Pearce; the Special Recognition Grand Marshal is Michelle Molina; Judith Doyle Community Grand Marshal is Jannay Lima; the Bob Crow Community Grand Marshal is Rory Moroney; the Marilyn Barlow Community Grand Marshal is Sabreena; the Dr. Robert Garcia Youth Grand Marshal Award is Abel Avalos; and with exceptionally excitement,

 Lisa Vanderpump is the Celebrity Grand Marshal!
Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride is a year-round operation that maintains permanent office space, employs 1 full-time staff and continues the tradition of giving back to the community each year. Over the past 34 years, Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride, Inc. has grown to become a large philanthropic organization.
