LONG BEACH PRIDE REAFFIRMS ITS MISSION AND COMMUNITY FOCUS FOR 2025 FESTIVAL

Long Beach, CA — May 1, 2025 — As Long Beach Pride™ prepares for its 42nd annual celebration this May, the organization is proud to reaffirm its mission as a nonprofit rooted in advocacy, visibility, and unity by its 100% volunteer board. In 2025, Long Beach Pride™ continues to center its core values by spotlighting community voices, supporting year-round outreach, and remaining a powerful symbol of resilience for the LGBTQ+ community.

“Long Beach Pride™ has always been more than just a festival—it’s a movement,” said Elsa Martinez, Interim President of Long Beach Pride™. “This year, more than ever, we’re celebrating the strength, creativity, and unity of our local community.”

Pride is a Movement, Not Just a Moment

Since its founding in 1983, Long Beach Pride™ has served as a vital platform for LGBTQ+ visibility and rights. The annual festival is not only a celebration but also a fundraiser that supports community outreach, and essential services throughout the year.

“As a nonprofit organization, every aspect of the Pride Festival—from ticket sales to vendor partnerships—directly funds our work in the community,” Martinez noted. “This is a festival with purpose.”

Centering Community Over Celebrity

This year’s festival is a return to the roots of Pride, emphasizing grassroots engagement and community participation. Local performers, artists, and activists will take center stage, reflecting the diverse and vibrant spirit of Long Beach.

“What makes this year truly special is how our community has stepped up,” Martinez added. “We are proud to showcase local talent and the voices that have long powered this movement.”

The Spirit of Pride is Unshaken

In a changing cultural and political landscape, Long Beach Pride™ remains steadfast in its commitment to justice, inclusion, and the celebration of queer joy. The organization invites all allies and community members to stand together, participate, and carry the legacy of Pride forward.

“Our strength has always been our solidarity,” said Martinez. “This year’s festival is a reminder of what we can achieve when we lift each other up.”
