ABC7 Los Angeles joined us on the shore for the 42nd annual Long Beach Pride Festival on May 17 and 18, 2025, and its community and events team wrote about the weekend for the station’s site. The story opened with a line we were happy to read.
Pride season officially kicked off with the return of Long Beach Pride.

ABC7 described a weekend built around our 2025 theme, “The Power of Community,” which it said showcased the strength, resilience and diversity of the LGBTQ+ family. Festivalgoers spent two days at Marina Green Park with live shows, immersive art, cultural showcases and interactive experiences.
On the stages, ABC7 named HYM the Rapper, Tori Kay and Tiancho, plus a Drag Show Extravaganza from Jewels Productions. The station also highlighted the festival zones that gave different parts of our community a home base: an EDM tent, a Teen Pride area for young people and Queer Country, where The Wranglers dance group led line dancing.
The ABC7 Street Team was on site both days with a prize wheel and a Pride photo booth, a fun touch that brought a lot of smiles to the park.
On Sunday, the parade stepped off at 10 a.m. at Ocean Boulevard and Lindero Avenue and traveled along Ocean Boulevard and Alamitos Avenue. ABC7 wrote warmly about the grand marshals who led it.
From local heroes to beloved community icons, these changemakers lead the festivities with pride, passion, and plenty of sparkle.

That is what the theme was about for us: neighbors who show up for one another all year and get a well earned moment on Ocean Boulevard. Thank you to ABC7 for being part of the weekend and for sharing it with viewers across the region.
