Long Beach Pride Announces 2026 Theme: “Fearless and Free”
The Long Beach Pride Team2 min read
Our 2026 theme, “Fearless and Free,” honors the resilience of the LGBTQ+ community. Join us May 15 to 17, 2026, at Marina Green and on Ocean Boulevard.
On January 26, 2026, Long Beach Pride announced “Fearless and Free” as the official theme of our 2026 celebration. It is a theme about courage, and about the freedom that comes when a community stands together in the open.
The weekend begins at Marina Green Park with Teen Pride on Friday, May 15, followed by the festival on Saturday and Sunday, May 16 and 17. It wraps up with the Long Beach Pride Parade on Ocean Boulevard on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
Why “Fearless and Free”
Our community has too often been pushed into the shadows. “Fearless and Free” is a call to step out of them together. It honors a long history of resilience and a simple belief: standing fearlessly in love is the path to freedom.
We must remember that where our spirits join is the place of unbreakable fearlessness and the road to freedom. By living fearlessly and free, the LGBTQ+ community continues to lead the way for all vulnerable groups, proving that every voice matters.

Building on Recent Themes
For decades, Long Beach Pride has chosen themes that celebrate authenticity, and each one says something about its moment. Recent themes laid the groundwork for this year’s message. In 2024, “The Rhythm of the Rainbow” celebrated the liberating power of music, and artist Carlos Sosa designed its official logo. In 2025, “The Power of Community” reinforced the strength we find in unity, and Long Beach designer Sabrina Ortiz captured it with a circle of people holding hands.
Look further back and the thread is easy to see. Our second festival in 1985 was “Alive with Pride in ’85.” In 1989 we marked the 20th anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion with “Stonewall 20.” Other years brought “Forward Together,” “Proud, Strong & United” and “Your Rights, Our Rights, Human Rights.” “Fearless and Free” belongs to that same tradition of naming what our community needs to hear.
