Long Beach designer Sabrina Ortiz created the official logo for the 42nd Annual Long Beach Pride Festival, May 17 and 18, 2025, at Marina Green.

Long Beach designer Sabrina Ortiz has won our 2025 logo contest. Her design, The Power of Community, is the official logo of the 42nd Annual Long Beach Pride Festival, coming to Marina Green on May 17 and 18, 2025. It gives this year’s celebration of love, inclusion and community a look all its own.

Ortiz took on this year’s theme, “The Power of Community,” and captured what Pride means to so many of us: unity, love and the strength we find in standing together. Here is how she describes her approach.

In an effort to demonstrate the idea of community and the strength in unity, I chose to create an abstraction of a circle of people holding hands. The simplicity of these shapes allows this icon to be scaled at multiple sizes while still maintaining the integrity of the logo.

The logo shows a circle of linked figures in a full spectrum of Pride colors, standing for inclusivity, diversity and the shared strength of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. Its simple, bold shapes will work everywhere we need them, from street banners to social media.

A Contest Open to Everyone

We opened the contest in fall 2024 to all artists and graphic designers, with a December 9 deadline and a $500 prize. The winning design is used across Long Beach Pride’s 2025 advertising, merchandise and media. Winners from the previous two years were not eligible. In 2024, Carlos Sosa’s artwork carried our theme “The Rhythm of the Rainbow.”

Within our community, we have so many talented individuals, and as an LGBTQ+ organization, it is our honor to offer a safe platform that allows everyone a chance to shine.
