The City of Long Beach announced that NBC4 and Telemundo 52 would return as media partners to livestream the 41st Annual Long Beach Pride Parade.
Not everyone can make it to Ocean Boulevard on parade morning, and that is exactly why this news matters. On May 10, 2024, the City of Long Beach announced that NBC4 and Telemundo 52 will return as media partners for the 41st Annual Long Beach Pride Parade, carrying it live to viewers across Southern California.
Coverage begins Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 10 a.m. Viewers can watch on nbcla.com and telemundo52.com, on the free NBCLA and Telemundo 52 mobile apps, and on the stations’ free 24/7 local news streaming channels, NBC Los Angeles News and Telemundo Noticias California.
What the City Shared
According to the City’s release, the parade will feature more than 130 participating organizations, businesses and stakeholder groups. It steps off at Ocean Boulevard and Lindero Avenue and travels along Ocean Boulevard to Alamitos Avenue in Downtown.
NBC4 weekday anchor Annabelle Sedano and Telemundo 52 anchor Enrique Chiabra will serve as Media Grand Marshals. They will be joined by Telemundo 52 Meteorologist Michelle Trujillo, NBC4 Reporter Christian Cázares and members of NBCUniversal’s OUT employee resource group, who will march alongside the stations.
The stations’ live coverage of the parade offers an opportunity for folks near and far to tune in and enjoy this cherished tradition.
Mayor Rex Richardson, City of Long Beach
The Long Beach Pride Parade is a community tradition that is cherished by many, and we are thrilled to have it livestreamed by NBC4 and Telemundo 52 so that even more people can enjoy its charm.
Vice Mayor and Second District Councilwoman Cindy Allen, City of Long Beach
The release also notes that the City is serving as the official host and funder of the 2024 parade while Long Beach Pride restructures, and that the parade coincides with the Long Beach Pride Festival on May 18 and 19, which our organization produces.
Our Thanks
We are deeply grateful to the City and to both stations. When the City stepped in as host earlier this year, our President, Tonya Martin, put it this way: “As we move through the restructuring of the annual Long Beach Pride event, we are truly grateful to live in a city that recognizes the resilience of our community, as well as the economic impact that the event has brought to Long Beach for decades.”
This year’s parade theme is “The Rhythm of the Rainbow.” Whether you line the curb downtown or tune in from your couch, we hope you feel part of it.
