The story also covered the festival at Rainbow Lagoon, 386 E. Shoreline Drive, open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday with hundreds of arts and crafts vendors, DJs, dancing and drag shows. Reggaeton star Ivy Queen headlined Sunday, and Valentina of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” was set to appear. ABC7 also noted that a week of events had led up to the weekend, which officially began with Teen Pride on Friday evening.

Pride weekend is also a practical puzzle for a lot of families, and the coverage helped there too. ABC7 noted that public transportation was encouraged and that public parking was available along Shoreline Drive and in garages near the Aquarium, Marina Green and Shoreline Village. More information about the parade was posted at longbeach.gov/prideparade.

For anyone who could not make it to the shore, the parade aired on NBC4 and Telemundo 52, our media partners. Seeing Long Beach Pride covered across Southern California television that day reminded us how far this hometown parade reaches. Thank you to everyone who lined Ocean Boulevard, marched, danced or cheered from home.
