Long Beach Post Spotlights Our 2025 Theme and Logo Contest
The Long Beach Pride Team2 min read
The Long Beach Post covered our 2025 theme, “The Power of Community,” and the contest inviting artists to design the official logo.
The Long Beach Post has helped spread the word about our 2025 theme and the search for the artist who will bring it to life. In a story by Jacob Sisneros published Nov. 19, 2024, the Post announced our theme, “The Power of Community,” and invited artists and graphic designers to enter our contest to design the official theme logo for the 42nd annual Long Beach Pride.
Artists can now submit artwork for a chance to win $500 and be featured as the official theme logo for the 42nd edition of Long Beach Pride in 2025.

The Post laid out the details clearly. The contest runs through Dec. 9, 2024, and is open to all artists and graphic designers. The selected design will be used in advertising and marketing materials and on merchandise, artists are encouraged to share their work with the hashtag #LBPRideArt2025, and winners from the past two years are not eligible. The 2025 festival is set for May 17 and 18, with the Pride Parade on May 18.
The story also recognized Carlos Sosa, whose design for “Rhythm of The Rainbow” won the year before. It was his second win: Carlos also designed our 2019 logo for “Millions of Moments of Pride,” which honored the 50th anniversary of Stonewall.
The 42nd annual Pride event will be the third since the pandemic paused in-person celebration of the parade in 2020 and 2021.

Why It Matters to Us
Our theme logo starts with one local artist and ends up on banners, shirts and posters all over Long Beach. Coverage like this puts the call in front of artists we might never reach on our own. As our president, Tonya Martin, said in our announcement, “Within our community, we have so many talented individuals, and as an LGBTQ+ organization, it is our honor to offer a safe platform that allows everyone a chance to shine.”
Long Beach Pride is a nonprofit organization that has celebrated the LGBTQ+ community with a parade since 1984.
