The Pride LA reported on our new name, logo, mission statement and website, and our plans for the 37th Annual Long Beach Pride Festival and Parade.
On January 16, 2020, The Pride LA reported on our new identity. After more than three decades as Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride, the nonprofit that produces the Long Beach Pride Parade and Festival had become simply Long Beach Pride, with a new logo, mission statement and website ahead of a 2020 relaunch.
Not only has its name been updated, but the 36-year-old 501(c)3 nonprofit revealed earlier this week its new logo, mission statement and website in preparation for a 2020 relaunch.
The Pride LA
We announced the change on January 15, and it meant a great deal to us. Our old name honored where we started. Our new one makes room for everyone in the LGBTQ+ community, and for the allies who celebrate with us. The Pride LA carried our president’s words in full.
The start of a decade is the perfect time to reflect on Long Beach Pride’s strong history and our commitment to inform and inspire a new generation of active members. Our name now reflects our mission of encouraging even more inclusion and embracing the LGBTQ+ community as a whole, and its allies, through the simple yet universal message of having pride in ourselves and each other.
As one of the first events kicking off the 2020 Pride season, we are excited to throw our biggest celebration ever while welcoming attendees from all over to our great city of Long Beach.

The story also laid out plans for the 37th Annual Long Beach Pride Festival and Parade: a free Teen Pride celebration on May 15, a two-day waterfront festival on May 16 and 17, and the parade on May 17. It noted our partnership with JJ|LA, the event production company behind Los Angeles Pride and the Pride Island music festival at WorldPride NYC in 2019.
As part of its commitment to offering attendees an entertainment-filled weekend, Long Beach Pride is planning an enhanced festival experience in partnership with the event production company JJ|LA.
