Long Beach Pride Postpones 2020 Festival and Parade

Out of an abundance of caution and after meeting with City officials, the Long Beach Pride Board postponed the 2020 Festival and Parade.

On March 14, 2020, after meeting with City of Long Beach officials, the Long Beach Pride Board made the hard decision to postpone the 2020 Festival and Parade because of COVID-19. We did not take it lightly. The health of our community, and of everyone who makes Pride happen, comes first.
It is with an abundance of caution that the Long Beach Pride Board has decided to postpone the 2020 Festival and Parade. Our commitment to the city of Long Beach and our entire community includes ensuring the health and well-being of citizens, attendees, artists, volunteers, staff, and vendors. We look forward to celebrating with our amazing LGBTQ+ and ally family, neighbors and friends at a later date, and encourage everyone to celebrate their Pride each and every day.
Denise Newman, President of Long Beach Pride
This was meant to be a big year. Just two months ago we introduced our new name and logo and began planning the 37th Annual Long Beach Pride Festival & Parade: a free Teen Pride night on May 15, a two-day waterfront festival on May 16 and 17, and the parade on May 17, produced with JJ|LA. Many of you had already bought tickets. Thank you. That work and that excitement are not lost.
We are grateful to the City for working through this with us and for sharing our commitment to keeping Long Beach safe and well.
Ticket refunds will be processed by our ticket partner, See Tickets. We will share updates on LongBeachPride.com and on our Facebook page as plans come together.
Until we can gather on the shore again, take our President’s words to heart and celebrate your Pride every day. Check on your friends, lean on your neighbors and look after one another. We can’t wait to be together again.
