Long Beach Pride Returns July 2022 After Two-Year Pause
The Long Beach Pride Team2 min read
After a two-year pause due to the pandemic, the Long Beach Pride Parade and Festival returns July 8 to 10, 2022, along Shoreline Drive.
Long Beach Pride announced on July 21, 2021, that it will return in summer 2022 after a two-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 37th Annual Long Beach Pride Parade and Festival will be held July 8 to 10, 2022, along Shoreline Drive in Downtown Long Beach.
For a community that has gathered on the shoreline for decades, two years apart has been a long time. We are ready to be together again.
How We Got Here
In March 2020, after meeting with city officials, the Long Beach Pride Board made the decision to postpone the 2020 Festival and Parade out of an abundance of caution for the health of attendees, artists, volunteers, staff and vendors. The pandemic kept us from gathering in person again in 2021.
We still found a way to celebrate. On May 16, 2021, Long Beach Pride presented an online show with headliners from our Main Stage, Dance Stage, Urban Stage and Fiesta Caliente Stage, streamed on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and LongBeachPride.com, along with highlights from past parades and festivals and live conversations with artists.
A New Summer Date
The 2022 celebration moves from its traditional May weekend to July, so guests can enjoy our historic waterfront setting with warmer weather and longer days.
This festival feels like a wonderful comeback for Long Beach Pride and all our guests. We have missed all of them. I am so excited to start the planning for this annual event. We changed the date of the Festival and Parade to be able to enjoy the incredible setting that we have historically used with warmer weather and longer days. This is a long-awaited celebration of our entire LGBTQ+ community.

What to Expect in 2022
The 2022 festival will feature live music from top artists on the music and dance stages, local artists and special community programming. Guests will enjoy an enhanced experience across different venues within the festival, and the food courts will offer dishes from local eateries and festival favorites, including food trucks.
Additional details will be shared in the weeks ahead. Follow Long Beach Pride on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for the latest updates. Sponsorship packages for 2022 were available by emailing corporatesponsor@longbeachpride.com.
About Long Beach Pride
The event is presented by Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all-volunteer organization whose focus is to produce and support activities that educate, encourage and celebrate pride, inclusion and respect for humanity. As the third-largest Pride festival and parade in California, we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community with a focus on inclusion and work to show the wider community that diversity builds a stronger, healthier society. Taking pride in all we have achieved since 1984, we strive to teach future generations that the work of acceptance continues.
