GRAMMY winner Natalia Jiménez, Los Horóscopos de Durango, Georgel and La Sonora Tropicana headline the Fiesta Caliente stage at Long Beach Pride 2020.

Long Beach Pride announced on February 25, 2020, that top Latinx performers, including GRAMMY Award winner Natalia Jiménez, Los Horóscopos de Durango, Georgel and La Sonora Tropicana, will headline the Fiesta Caliente stage at the 37th Annual Long Beach Pride Festival and Parade, May 15 to 17, 2020. The stage is produced by Club Papi Productions.

The Fiesta Caliente stage has long been one of the hottest parts of the Long Beach Pride celebration and this year’s lineup is its best ever. We are thrilled to bring these talented Latinx performers to Long Beach for our celebration of the LGBTQ+ and ally community.

Alongside the announcement, Long Beach Pride introduced a limited-time ticket promotion with a $50 weekend pass and $30 single-day passes, available at longbeachpride.com while supplies lasted.

A Stage With Deep Roots

Fiesta Caliente has been part of our festival for more than two decades. The idea came from one of our founders, Bob Crow, who saw the need for a Latin stage and believed it would make the festival more welcoming to the Latinx community. The board took some convincing. Bob kept at it, the stage got its chance, and it quickly became one of the most popular corners of the festival.

Bob has always been quick to share the credit. “A huge part of the success was when I met Jamie Awad, owner of Club Papi,” he said in 2017, recalling how Jamie donated his time, and often his own money, to book talent and fund giveaways in the early years.

Two of the 2020 headliners have played Fiesta Caliente before: Los Horóscopos de Durango in 2015, and La Sonora Tropicana as part of the 2017 lineup that celebrated the stage’s history.

Los Horóscopos de Durango

Los Horóscopos de Durango is one of the pioneering groups of Duranguense music, founded in 1975 by Armando Terrazas and friends in Chicago and later joined by his daughters, Marisol and Vicky Terrazas. Their honors include five Billboard Awards, a Lo Nuestro Award, Premios de la Radio awards and a Furia Musical Award. They were the first Duranguense group to win a Latin GRAMMY for Best Band Album, in 2007, and won it again the following year.

Their success has carried them to the top of the charts in the United States, Mexico and parts of Central America. In 2010, the group diversified its style and recorded its first album with a band, “La Güera y La Morena.” Their most recent album, “Entre el Amor y la Aventura,” features the single “Me Dejé Querer.”

La Sonora Tropicana

La Sonora Tropicana was born in Medellín, Colombia, in the spring of 1989, created by Abel De Luna with musical direction by Ray Carreño and featuring both female and male vocalists. Over a career spanning more than 25 years, the group has been nominated for numerous awards, appeared on television, performed at major events in Mexico City, Monterrey and Chicago, and won the Furia Musical Award for Best Tropical Group two years in a row. The group is touring the United States with the singles “Tengo que Colgar” and “No Te Creas Tan Importante.”

Three Days of Pride

The 37th Annual Long Beach Pride Festival and Parade is a three-day celebration. It opens May 15, 2020, with a free Teen Pride celebration featuring a DJ, dancing and performances in a safe, chaperoned, youth-only environment. The two-day waterfront festival follows May 16 to 17 with live music, community programming and food from local eateries, and the annual parade takes place May 17. More artists and festival details will be announced at a later date.
