Long Beach Pride 2024 Calls for LGBTQ+ and Allied Performers

Singers, DJs, dancers, musicians and drag artists were invited to apply for the 2024 festival stage under the theme The Rhythm of the Rainbow.
Long Beach Pride opened its stage to LGBTQ+ and allied performers for the 2024 festival, held May 18 and 19, 2024, at Marina Green Park. Selected artists would play to a crowd of more than 20,000, and our President, Tonya Martin, made clear who we hoped to hear from first.
We are excited to support our local LGBTQ+ artist and allow a great space for them to shine.

The 2024 theme, “The Rhythm of the Rainbow,” was all about music. When we announced it a few days earlier, we described music as a universal language, something that brings people together and gives us hope to move forward. Martin put it in her own words:
We pay homage to the beats that have strengthened our hearts and souls. Our music is a powerful tool against the challenges we face, and with it, we will prevail.

So we went looking for performers who carry that spirit. Singers, DJs, dancers, musicians, drag artists and anyone with a talent all their own were encouraged to apply.
Applications went through the entertainment application on our website, and the deadline was Feb. 10, 2024. The call was open to LGBTQ+ and allied artists alike.
Performers weren’t the only creatives we called on that January. We also opened an art contest for the official 2024 theme logo, with a $500 prize and artwork that would appear across our advertising and merchandise.
The 41st annual festival ran both days on Marina Green, and the Long Beach Pride Parade followed on Sunday, May 19, 2024, free and open to everyone. As the first Pride celebration of the season, it gave local artists an early, big stage.
Long Beach Pride is a nonprofit that has celebrated the LGBTQ+ community since 1984 with our annual festival, parade and Teen Pride. We couldn’t wait to hear who would show up to share their sound with us.
