Long Beach Pride logo

The Long Beach Pride Team2 min read

Artists and graphic designers are invited to create the official logo for “The Rhythm of the Rainbow,” the 2024 Long Beach Pride theme, for a $500 prize.

Long Beach Pride is looking for the artist behind our 2024 theme logo. This year’s theme is “The Rhythm of the Rainbow,” and the winning design will carry it onto Long Beach Pride advertising and merchandise for the festival on May 18 and 19, 2024, and the parade on May 19.

About the Theme

We announced the theme on January 12, 2024. It is about hope and unity through music. Music reaches past politics, poverty and injustice; it is a universal language, and as creators and lovers of music, we find hope in it to keep moving forward. We want a logo that lets people see that rhythm.

We pay homage to the beats that have strengthened our hearts and souls. Our music is a powerful tool against the challenges we face, and with it, we will prevail.

A Stage for Local Artists

Our art contest has introduced the community to some wonderful work. In 2019, Carlos Sosa won with a triangular design marking the 50th anniversary of Stonewall, surrounded by smaller triangles for the millions of memories, struggles and warriors in the fight for equality, all in the colors of Gilbert Baker’s Rainbow Flag.

Show us what you are working on. Share your design on social media with #LBPrideArt2024. And if you perform rather than draw, we are also inviting LGBTQ+ and allied singers, DJs, dancers, musicians and drag artists to apply to perform at the 2024 festival at Marina Green Park by February 10, 2024.

Long Beach Pride is a nonprofit organization known for its annual Pride festival, parade and Teen Pride events, and has celebrated the LGBTQ+ community since 1984.
