The City of Long Beach is the official host of the 41st annual Long Beach Pride Parade on May 19, 2024, and entry applications are open at no cost.

Long Beach Pride is excited to announce that the City of Long Beach will be the official host of the 41st annual Long Beach Pride Parade on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 10 a.m. Applications to march are now open, and there is no fee to take part.

This is a call to groups and individuals who want to join a procession that celebrates diversity, unity and the resilience of the LGBTQ+ community. Every entry helps tell that story along Ocean Boulevard.

Grateful for Our City

Long Beach Pride President Tonya Martin spoke about what the City’s support means as the organization reshapes its annual event:

As we move through the restructuring of the annual Long Beach Pride event, we are truly grateful to live in a city that recognizes the resilience of our community, as well as the economic impact that the event has brought to Long Beach for decades. Thank you Long Beach for showing us that we all matter.

Vice Mayor Cindy Allen, who represents the district where the parade is held, shared her own excitement:

Long Beach Pride is one of my favorite parades. With its many participants, you can see all the diversity and you can feel all the love as it marches down Ocean Boulevard. This is one of the major events that has made our city one of the greatest inclusive and diverse in the nation. I am excited for this year and I am proud to represent our LGBTQ+ community.

Deadline and Next Steps

Parade Entry Forms were due by May 1, 2024. Because space is limited, not every applicant could be accommodated. A member of the Long Beach Pride Parade team followed up with each applicant after the form was submitted, and language assistance was offered in Spanish, Khmer and Tagalog.

The parade is the free centerpiece of a full weekend. The 41st annual festival runs May 18 and 19 at Marina Green Park, with Saucy Santana headlining Saturday.

Interest was strong. The 2024 parade filled to capacity, and applications closed once every space was taken. Thank you to every group that answered the call.
